Mining Engineer/ Geologist

Richard is a senior consultant of CHALLION IS Ltd .He has worked for a number of mining companies within and Outside Nigeria especially West Africa. He last assignment was with Eta Zuma Group, Abuja as the chief mining engineer in charge of developing their iron ore, coal ,marble, gold  and nickel projects all around the country. Richard started his career as a graduate assistant working with Inco Falconbridge, A nickel company in Sudbury Ontario Canada for their underground mining project. He moved to Agonico Mines Limited, Tri Town, New Liskard Ontario- Canada as a graduate assistant in their underground silver mine in Northern Ontario. His NYSC service was with Ajaokuta Steel Industries Limited and later joined the National Iron Ore Company in Kogi State where he worked at different managerial levels.

Richard obtained a Mining Engineering degree from Haileybury School of Mines, Haileybury, Ontario Canada. He has another degree also in Geology   obtained from Laurentian University, Sudbury Ontario Canada. He is a member of some professional bodies like the Nigeria Society of Mining Engineers (NSME), Nigeria Mining and Geosciences Society NMGS and  Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG)

 

NWAFOR C. GIDEON (MNMGS, GEMCOM, NIM)
Exploration Geologist and Geophysicist

M.Sc (Geophysics) University of Nigeria, Nsukka,  BSc. Hons (Geology), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Gideon holds a bachelor’s degree in Geology (BSc. Hons) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) where he obtained his Master of Science (MSc.) in Applied Geophysics. He worked as an experienced senior exploration geologist for five years with Western Goldfields Groups Abuja before Joining Chicason Group in 2012 as a Manager in charge of field exploration. Some of  the project he has handled includes: Core Drilling for Okaba Coal Field  Kogi State (coal – power project),Core Drilling for Ekinrin-Adde Marble,  Kogi State (coal – power project), Zuma Coal Fired Power Plant Geotechnical coring and Sampling, Itobe,  Zuma Mine Plan and Design with Belhre Dolbear US InC.,Zuma Coal Mine Prefeasibility Study with Anderson and Schwabs US Inc., Digitization of Western Goldfields Exploration Concession Areas in Cadastre units, DMS and UTM zones., Mapping of 330kva tie-in transmission Line of Zuma Energy CFPP Site, Itobe. Kogi State, Okobo coal delineation using VES and Double Dipole Configuration of Resistivity Method, Geological and Topographical Mapping of western Goldfields Coal concessions within the Lower Coal Measures of SE Nigeria, Sampling cores and lithostratigraphic description of well bores of Zuma Coal, Geologic mapping and digitization of geologic maps of Western Goldfields Groups, Lateral Resistivity gridding and Profilings projects for Zuma 828 coal.

A seasoned exploration geologist and geophysicist, he brings his wealth of knowledge to Challion integrated Services Limited, as a Senior exploration geologist and geophysicist.

 In the course of his career he has attended several courses and trainings in geographical information systems GIS, geology and mine planning; he is certified in  Minex Borehole Database and Geology Modeling (MBD &GM), Minex Open Design and Reserve (MODR), Open Pit Optimizations (OPO) and Open Pit Scheduling (OPS). He is inter alia a chartered member of Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), a registered member of Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) and also a member of the Council of Nigeria Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG).

MICHAEL OJEGBAMENE OKOTO 

Mine Engineer
M.Sc Mechanical Design Engineering , University of Manchester,  B.Eng (Mechanical Engineering) University of Benin.

Michael Okoto is currently working as a project consultant and engineer for RIMCO Mining Ltd. He has consulted for various mining and quarry projected developing preliminary feasibility and full feasibility report, process improvement and total re engineering of mine and quarry operations. Michael worked as the Assistant Project Manager/ EPCM Manager for a Okobo first coal mining project and Coal processing plant unit respectively as part of a power plant project for Zuma 828 Coal Nigeria Limited in Okobo,Kogi State of Nigeria. Also he worked as the fabrication manager for KOCH Nigeria limited, the main contractor to the National Iron Ore Company limited in charge of the local fabrication workshop for the upgrading of the plant weather ore processing line and conveying system. Earlier in his career, Michael worked as a project support engineer for a building and property company GU Nikoro Nigeria Limited and also as a research analyst with a start up Design Company in Manchester. He works with Challion Integrated Services Limited as a Mine Engineer.

Michael Okoto have both technical and managerial skills in engineering and mining industry  such as Estimating The Cost For Mine Feasibility Study, Modeling Metal Project Finance ,Mineral Project Management, Mine Project Economics, Mining Investment – Understanding the Risks, Human Resources Management And Recruitment, Heavy Equipment Selection and Procurement for Mining Projects, Processing Plant Design, Installation and Commissioning.

Michael Okoto has a Masters Degree in Mechanical Design Engineering from the University of Manchester and a Bachelors degree from the University of Benin. He has undertaken several training in Health and Safety, Peoples skills Management, Budgeting. He is currently an active Member of the Project Management Institute. He is pursuing certification in the Mechanism of Project Finance from Middlesex University and a certificated in mining as a continuous professional development program.

NWAFOR, ONYINYE MICHELLE

Geologist and Environmental Officer

M.Sc Environmental Resources Management (Nasarawa State University., BSc. Hons (Geology), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Michelle holds an M.Sc Environmental Resources Management ( M.Sc ERM) from Nasarawa State University and a bachelor’s degree in Geology (BSc. Hons) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University. Michelle is experienced in Environmental Resource Management, mineral licensing and tenement management.  She has handle major project on the Effects of Artisanal and Small scale mining in Nigeria. She worked as a geologist for Nigeria Geological Survey Agency of Nigeria before joining Challion IS Ltd as an Environmental expert. She has been involved in geological/geophysical exploration of both green and brown fields within Nigeria with proficiency in the management of field data and specialized applications such as Autocad Land Development, Global Mapper, ArcGis, IpI2win Lite. She is a member of the Nigeria Mining and Geosciences Society and has certification in General Health, Safety and Environment (GHSE) and HSE. In the course of her career she has attended several courses and trainings in geographical information systems GIS, geology and relevant mapping software.

 

NNADI, OGECHUKWU ESTHER

Exploration Geologist 

B.TECH (Geology), Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

Nnadi Ogechukwu Esther holds a bachelor’s degree in Geology (B.Tech) from Federal University of Technology, Owerri. She worked with RIMCO Mining Company as field geologist. She has been involved in the exploration of various geological and geophysical surveys within the Nigeria Benue Trough in search of Limestone, barite, Lead-Zinc, Gold and Coal with proficiencies in various geological and geophysical interpretation applications; IPI2win, Global Mapper, Res2dinv, Autocad Land Development. She is a member of Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE).
